Martina Omorodion

Martina Omorodion is a doctoral student at Federal University Oye Ekiti (Nigeria) currently working on the effect of violent conflicts on women and the environment. She is interested in both Terrorism and Violent extremism, and has written at least two papers in these two research area.
Omorodion recently presented a paper titled “Women, Peace and Security: Examining Ahmed Yerima’s Chant” for Inclusive Counter Terrorism Efforts in Little Drops at a conference on Theatre and Counter Terrorism. She also published a paper on Theatre, Terrorism and the Society: A Study of the Revolutionary Violence in Esiaba Irobi’s Hangmen Also Die.
Omorodion has an interest in exploring counter terrorism from a gender perspective and security challenges in the North East of Nigeria where the Boko Haram insurgency continues to rage. She also plans to explore the roles New Media plays in terrorism and counter terrorism strategies.
