Ian Messenger holds the position of Lead Instructor of the Understanding and Responding to Global and Domestic Terrorism course at Dalhousie University. This course forms part of the Certificate in Police Leadership program designed for policing and security professionals.
He wishes to affiliate with TSAS in order to contribute to the field of study and enhance the student learning experience for those completing the Global and Domestic Terrorism course through collaboration with other academics and others.
Prior to this position, he taught a number of policing and security university course relating to leadership and ethics.
Prior to immigrating to Canada, he was an Officer of the UK’s National Crime Agency where he was responsible for policing and terrorist financing investigations with a Middle East and Asia nexus.
It is his intention to drive the Global and Domestic Terrorism course forward and increase the academic rigor of the course through the inclusion of guest speakers, round tables with academic and practitioners, and Ted-style talks.
