Yiagadeesen Samy

Dr. Yiagadeesen (Teddy) Samy is an Associate Professor and Associate Director (MA Program) at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, where he has been teaching since 2003.

His broad research interests are in international and development economics.  He is the author and co-author of several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on a range of issues that include trade and labor standards, state fragility, terrorism financing, aid policies and aid effectiveness (with a particular emphasis on fragile states).  He is currently working on: aid, taxation and domestic resource mobilization; state transitions; and income inequality.
