Ratheesan Uthayakumar has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Ryerson University. His academic research focused on the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and their pioneering of the Black Tiger suicide wing in launching attacks against political opponents and military targets. He completed an internship with Horizon Intelligence (HozInt), a Belgium-based organization that provides timely information to mitigate safety/security risks through media and human intelligence. In his capacity as a Security Risk Analyst, he produced over 750 threat alerts and assessed threat criterias by focusing on security issues (i.e. crime, kidnapping, terrorism/insurgency, war) in the Americas and Asia Pacific. He is currently researching about human trafficking in the digital world, including the victimization of human trafficking through open accessibility in adult video streaming and online escort agencies. As a Court Clerk and Registrar at the Ontario Court of Justice, he has managed court proceedings involving terrorism, money laundering, human trafficking, drug trafficking and homicides. He wants to pursue a career in the intelligence field.
