Muhammad Tahir Mahmood

Junior Affiliate (PhD)

Muhammad earned his PhD in International Security and Intelligence Studies from the Research School of the Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies (BUCSIS) at the University of Buckingham, in the United Kingdom. Presently he is working as a Research Fellow (Terrorism and Security) at the Foundation of International Society of Law and Nuclear Disarmament (ISLAND). He has a long career as a practicing lawyer, professor, and researcher in the areas of terrorism, counter-terrorism, prospect of nuclear terrorism, criminal justice system, security and intelligence issues.

During his Doctoral programme, he attended a number of International Conferences, and study visits in different countries, including Japan, Washington D.C, Luxembourg, Brussels, Barcelona, Geneva, Hague, Birmingham, and London. He is the author of “Al-Qaeda’s Claws into Afghanistan: Reality of Al-Qaeda in Light of the Afghan Peace Process”, published by the Islamic Military Counter-terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) in its Magazine AtTAHALOF”, in three languages, Arabic, English, and French, (https://magazine.imctc.org/m5-en/ ).
