Muhammad earned his PhD in International Security and Intelligence Studies from the Research School of the Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies (BUCSIS) at the University of Buckingham, in the United Kingdom. Presently he is working as a Research Fellow (Terrorism and Security) at the Foundation of International Society of Law and Nuclear Disarmament (ISLAND). He has a long career as a practicing lawyer, professor, and researcher in the areas of terrorism, counter-terrorism, prospect of nuclear terrorism, criminal justice system, security and intelligence issues.
During his Doctoral programme, he attended a number of International Conferences, and study visits in different countries, including Japan, Washington D.C, Luxembourg, Brussels, Barcelona, Geneva, Hague, Birmingham, and London.
