Muhammad Tahir Mahmood

Junior Affiliate (PhD)

Muhammad is a doctoral student at the Research School of the Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies (BUCSIS) at the University of Buckingham, in the United Kingdom and studying for a Ph.D. examining Pakistan’s Counter-terrorism strategy. He expects to complete his studies by December 2019.

During his Doctoral programme, he attended a number of International Conferences, and study visits in different countries, including Japan, Washington D.C, Luxembourg, Brussels, Barcelona, Geneva, Hague, Birmingham, and London. In January 2019, the Saudi Research and Publishing Company (SRPC), invited me in Riyadh and he presented his research paper on “Daesh and the Violent Extremist Organization (VEO) landscape in Pakistan and Afghanistan region.” During this trip, I also visited the Islamic Military Counter-terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Headquarter in Riyadh. I also worked with the Saudi Research and Publishing Company on a Research Project “Causes of Terrorism and its Sympathisers in Europe.”
