Junior Affiliate (PhD)

Grant’s research examines the changing role of border security in an increasingly globalized world. Arguing that the push from nation states and the global economy for the free movement of goods, services, and persons has advocated for the suppression of traditional borders and that the decline of violent conflict within the state, ease of travel between countries, the advancements of communication technology, and the globalization of the financial sector has created new avenues for crime syndicates to expand their operations beyond national borders. Her research will explore the themes of crime and terrorism and will analyze linkages between transnational criminal organizations and terrorism related activities.
