Jenna Harb

Junior Affiliate (PhD)

Jenna’s dissertation seeks to analyze the development of Canadian national security and counter-terrorism policies utilizing archival research, key informant interviews, and Access to Information strategies. She will apply Foucault’s theorization of governmentality, biopolitics, and raison d’etat, coupled with Brodeur’s conceptualization of high policing, as frameworks to answer two questions: (1) what are the contemporary institutional configurations and practices underpinning national security policing in Canada, and (2) what are the implications of such policing for privacy, social cohesion, and resilience?
