Geneviève Boucher Boudreau

Junior Affiliate (PhD)

Geneviève Boucher Boudreau is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Ottawa. She focuses her researches on the concept of violence, national identity, radicalization and religion.

She has a M.A. in Anthropology (Université Laval), a M.A. in Conflict Resolution and Mediation (Tel Aviv University) and she was previously an intern consultant for the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism in Israel.

After a decade of academic work and fieldwork based in the Middle East, her current research adopts an ethnographic approach that will generate knowledge about the communications between Muslim groups to develop alternative counterterrorism strategies. Moreover, Geneviève’s experiences allowed her to develop media analysis, policy decision-making, strategic surveillance, international mediation, and leadership skills.
