Junior Affiliate (Masters)

Chelsea Badger is currently a Masters student at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University. A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and former lawyer, Chelsea previously focused on domestic criminal law, and while working abroad, international refugee law and policy, as well as rule of law and human rights issues.
Since returning to school, her main area of concern has been the nexus between organized crime and terrorism, particularly in terms of crimes such as illicit drug trafficking and human and weapons smuggling. As a summer student at Global Affairs Canada’s International Crime and Terrorism Division (Policy Unit), she is focusing on returning foreign terrorist fighters and preventing/countering violent extremism.
