Junior Affiliate (PhD)

Casey Babb is a PhD student at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. Casey’s research is primarily focused on the theories of conventional deterrence and compellence, particularly as they relate to the formulation of counter-terrorism strategies. However, Casey has recently undertaken research that analyzes the growing trend of terrorist organizations targeting healthcare facilities and healthcare workers.

As a former Policy Advisor to Canada’s Minister of National Defence from 2011-2015, a former Research Affiliate with the York Centre for International and Security Studies, and former officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, Casey brings a wealth of experience to his research
