Brandon Rigato

Junior Affiliate (PhD)

Brandon’s PhD research will focus on far-right extremism and Daesh-inspired extremism and the way in which members of these movements articulate a rationale for their crimes and beliefs through online discussions.
Previously, I completed a capstone course offered through Carleton University’s Norman Patterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) titled INAF 5469: Forecasting and Scenario Building. In partnership with EdVenture and the US State Department this course allowed students to work in groups to establish their own CVE program. The findings were published in the journal for deradicalization.
Aside from extremism and terrorism, I also study progressive social movements. This is done through my work as a member of Align Media at Carleton University.
