Dr. Andrew Park is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing Science at Thompson Rivers University. He has conducted research on criminology, security, and counter-terrorism for the past 6 years.
Dr. Park has studied crowd behaviour in the case of a terrorist attack. His team has developed an agent-based modeling and simulation system using swarm intelligence. This system simulates crowd’s movement and security personnel’s rescue mission during a terrorist attack. He has extensive research experience in crime pattern analysis as well as crime information visualization. Andrew Park is currently a senior research fellow at the Institute for Canadian Urban Research Studies which is an inter-disciplinary research centre focusing on crime reduction policy, crime analysis and computational criminology.
