Alison Bauersfeld

As an analyst at Valens Global, Alison Bauersfeld manages and performs research and analysis on projects related to terrorism, violent extremism, and radicalization for government and private sector clients. In this role, Bauersfeld co-authored the firm’s report “Like a Drop of Cyanide” for DND’s MINDS Program, a strategic framework for countering radicalization in the Canadian Armed Forces, and briefed the findings virtually four times to audiences at DND, including the Chief of Military Personnel Command Suite. Alison has also led Valens’ efforts to help coordinate two initiatives for the Global Counterterrorism Forum co-led by the U.S. State Department and United Nations and drafted expert witness reports commissioned for use in U.S. federal litigation.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in cognitive neuroscience, magna cum laude, from Brown University in May 2020. In the summer of 2019, Alison interned with the U.S. Secret Service’s National Threat Assessment Center, where she performed behavioral threat assessment research.

Alison’s interests include the psychology of radicalization, violent extremism, threat assessment, misinformation, and mental health.
