Alain Vixamar

Junior Affiliate (Masters)

As a counselor working with various public and private organizations, Vixamar’s previous and ongoing work has been focused on the personal and professional development of young adults with complex needs, requiring some form of institutional intervention. This interest in the developmental needs of young people has raised concerns about the processes leading to religious jihadist radicalism and violence.

As part of my future plans I intend to conduct research on radicalization, terrorism and social work in Canada. Part of his research objectives are to further discern points of leverage, which may assist governments, law enforcement agencies, health and social practitioners, in mitigating attitudes and actions leading to violence.
