Dr. Adib Bencherif is an Assistant Professor in political science at the Université de Sherbrooke. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Sahel Research Group at the University of Florida (2019-2021). Adib holds a B.A. from the School of International Relations in Paris, an M.A. in International Relations from Laval University and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on security issues and political violence in the Sahel, with a focus on the narratives of local actors. He is the author of several peer-reviewed articles published in Studies in Conflict and Terrorism, Terrorism and Political Violence, Mediterranean Politics, The Canadian Journal of African Studies and Politique Africaine.
